Hello soon-to-be leafy green lover! Downing a glass of green pulp may appear to be some celebrity induced diet fad, though I can put my hand to my heart and say that once you try a green smoothie, you’ll most likely become insanely addicted.
Why? It’s a quick and easy way to get large amounts of fruits and leafy greens into your daily diet, and give your body the plant-based nutrients it craves. It’s a natural energy booster, keeps you healthy year-round as it’s packed with disease-fighting antioxidants, and is by far the best ‘fast food’ I pack in my bag each day. It’s so integrated into my routine that at 5am New Years day, all the way from Auckland New Zealand where I was holidaying with friends - my first Instagram post for 2015 was my favourite green smoothie!
My Favourite Green Smoothie Recipe
What you’ll need (serves one):
- Large bunch of Baby Spinach
- 1 Granny Smith Apple (cored, sliced)
- 2 cups of water (can be substituted for coconut water)
- 3 Ice cubes (to serve chilled)
- 5 Mint leaves (to taste - experiment to find your ideal mix)
- 6 pieces of sliced pineapple (a natural sweetener)
PLUS my secret ingredient…

Talking about bowels and gut health seems to be a normal topic of conversation amongst those in the health, fitness and wellness industry, though in my experience it seems to be a rather taboo topic outside of that.
From birth I have been blessed/cursed with an incredibly fast metabolism.
