What does it mean to do things #LIKEAGIRL and what does that mean for girls’ confidence? THIS is a TV Commercial EVERY WOMAN should see.
For as long as I can remember, hearing someone do anything “like a girl” was generally an insult, so how do you think it feels when you are an adolescent girl? Pretty insulting…right? I particularly LOVE this campaign because the message resonates with everything that I am striving for with my charity work as Mrs Australia International for the Touch of Goodness Foundation. There are so many contributing factors surrounding body confidence and self esteem amongst teens (more so young girls). It’s important to remember that, whilst a somewhat turbulent time figuring out who and what you want to be and do, it’s a journey we all take. And it takes time.
Always; a feminine hygiene company that advocates there being more to life than keeping leaks at bay; is trying to change the negative connotations with their new commercial #LikeAGirl, which shines the light on the confidence crisis currently affecting millions of young girls. Instead of creating a negative notion around doing anything “like a girl,” Always has done a one-eighty and the result, well, it’s something pretty amazing.
Take a closer look at their social experiment:
“We’re kicking off an epic battle to make sure that girls everywhere keep their confidence throughout puberty and beyond, and making a start by showing them that doing it #LikeAGirl is an awesome thing.”
